New Office Prayer
Monday, June 27th, 2005New Office Prayer
Grant me the serenity
To Accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change things I cannot accept,
And the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people
I had to kill today because they pissed me off.
And Also,
Help me to be careful
Of the toes I step on today as they
May be connected to the ass
That I might have to kiss tomorrow.
Always give 100% at work……..
12% on Monday
23% on Tuesday
40% on Wednesday
20% on Thursday
5% on Friday
But remember………
When you’re having a really bad day
And it seems like people are trying to piss you off,
Remember that it takes 42 facial muscles to frown
and only 4 to extend you finger.
Now get back to work…………
PPCDL
Sunday, June 26th, 2005 Spent the entire weekend at SAF Changi Yacht club for the PPCDL (Pleasure Power Craft license) course. Each day, the training is divided into theory and practical lessons. The theory covers a total of 8 chapters which introduces a total beginner the anatomy of the boat, the laws of the seas, maritime navigation…etc. There is a hell lot of things to memorize for the theory test. No wonder midshipsman cadets do not have the privillege of lights out. The practical lessons are more interesting, which covers basic boat handling, safety checks, man overboard drills and berthing/unberhing skills. I was rather pissed with my performance on the first day. I totally suck at berthing the stupid boat. Today’s performance is not too bad. Manage to handle the boat a bit better than yesterday.
Oh did I forget to mention that a friend, Kenneth Fang was on course with me as well? He is quite a natural boater. Kinda jealous. Like myself, he also wishes to conquer the Land, AIR and Sea.I have already made some concrete plans that after obtaining my PPCDL license, hopefully sometime in Septemeber or October, I will sign up for the skydiving courses in Pattaya Thailand and Trike flying at Desaru Flight park, KL. To all my best buddies, gal pals and fellow lunatics, do revert to me if you are interested in joining me for the courses.
Just another Saturday
Saturday, June 18th, 2005After 12 years of wearing spectacles, I finally got myself contact lens. I recall reading an old article about a 14 year old teen who became partially blind after scratching his cornea while wearing his contact lens. I was 13 then. Needless to say, my virgin experience of putting on the lens is particularly terrifying. However, I am not going to be embarassed in front of all the amused tai tais and the stupid bunch of JC schoolies. So how long did I take to learn the skill? Well….just say that my ego is only ’slightly bruised’.
Good news from Borneo Motors. My dealer says that I am going to get my car as early as 30th June. One problem though, they would require my 11B for registration of the car at LTA. How am I going to do that if I need my 11B to gain access to my computers at work? Will have to come up with a solution when I go down to Borneo Motors to sign the ownership papers. Bugger!!
Sms Herbert after dinner just to find out how he is at 4SIR. We ended catching up at MOS Burger (Junction 8). Went to play pool after that in AMK with two of Herbert Sec Sch friends, Melvin and Jag. We lost 4 games out of 5. Anyway, it was indeed a pleasant surprise when I saw my previous BMT OC, LTA James Yeo at the same venue. His pool table was right next to ours. The irony is that not only his ex recruit has surpassed him in terms of rank. My current appointment in Mindef has some influence over his career posting . Is he going to be the next 2SIB BRC OC? Well, I am not going to tell you. Its classified. If I do tell, I may have to kill you. Woooaaaahahahahhaha (Evil Laughter!)
Chill out at Brewerkz
Saturday, June 11th, 2005
We (Sasi, Kenneth Fang, Zi Qin) are supposed to catch "Mr and Mrs Smith", only to realise that all tickets were sold out till late night. Drats! and so we decided to spend the rest of the evening catching up over pub food and beer at Brewerkz. Kenneth couldnt decide what beer to order. There are, I think 12 varieties of in-house beer. Brewerkz is a microbrewery, you see. Well, he finally settled on the sampler set. Good value for 12 bucks. Sasi ordered a new variety of Hoegardern, which tasted as if champagne was added to it. My usual order is the in house specialty, IPA (Indian Pale Ale) and the Buffalo wings in hot chilli sauce. How predictable. Anyway, we are patronising the new indochine pub "Forbidden City" next week.
