KUSU ISLAND PILGRIMAGE
Sunday, October 14th, 2007October, as in previous years, is the most challenging month of the workyear. Late nights, rising cortisol levels, ‘Roller coaster emotions’. You name it. In the last three weeks, I have done all that I could to minimise the stress of the next two weeks. But as my colleague aptly put it. There will always be two persons that will screw me up. Murphy and Disappointment. So I thought. "Why not seek some divine intervention?" Then, Kusu island came into the picture. Its the time of the year again where thousands of devotees flock for their annual pilgrimage to pray u know, the usual (Striking 4-D, good luck and so on.) I have never been to Kusu Island and glad that I did. Kusu island is a place where you either love it or hate it. Although the buzz of scrambling devotees irritated me a little at times, I felt a sense of tranquility and peace. Very relaxing. Cant explain it. I am sure Wilfred and Darius will agree with me too, right?
It is said that touching the turtle head brings good luck.
Having fresh coconut juice after we have done visitng the Da Bo Gong temple. Hongus and Chongus didnt quite fancy their coconut though.
Enormous turtle gorging itself on kangkong.
Which one of this is a wining number?
The sun, the land, the sea. Ya, I know..too bright lah.
